This is dedicated to my brother who died in a
car accident.
Who ever thought we'd lose someone dear,
As we plan our lives from year to year?
Who ever thought our brother it would be,
To whom we'd say good-bye, for who we'd never see?
Who ever thought he'd be the one,
Bringing tears to our eyes, our parent's only son?
Who ever thought, "Only the Good Die Young",
Meant they were talking about him when that song was sung?
Whatever we thought, this we know:
He will always be with us wherever we go.
We Love You James!

We thank God for giving us
The special friend we all shared.
The love of a man
For whom we all cared.
A man well respected
For the accomplishments he would achieve.
Teaching all that he knew,
For in us, he'd believe.
He touched so many lives.
He was a friend to us all.
Never holding a grudge,
Always standing tall.
He'd help solve many problems.
He'd get us through each bad day-
Making us laugh at ourselves,
By knowing just what to say.
We'll miss you Doug
as we wipe away the tears.
We'll be thinking of you
Throughout the years.
We Love You!

If someone could hurt you and say a thing unkind,
Remember what I write to you and keep these thoughts in mind.
For everyone that makes you cry there are three to
make you smile.
A smile will last for a long, long time, but a tear just a little while.
Don't let someone who hates the world cause you to
hate it too.
Behind the clouds is a Golden sun and a sky that's full of Blue.
If someone said a thing that's cruel, don't let it
get to you.
Your achievements are greatly numbered and your faults are very few.
So if a certain person should act a certain way
Think of those who love you...
And Don't Let it Spoil Your Day!

If you have a tender message or a loving word to
say,
Do not wait 'til you forget, but whisper it today;
The tender word unspoken, the letter never sent,
The long forgotten messages, the wealth of love unspent-
For these some hearts are breaking, for those some
loved ones wait;
So show them that you care for them before it is too late.

Why don't people stop and think
Why don't they ever see...
That one of life's most perfect gifts
Is theirs each day, for free?
Take the time to watch a sunset
Or walk through a summer shower
There's nothing so important
That it cannot wait an hour...
Take the time to say a prayer
Make love or make a friend,
Play with children, read a book
The learning shouldn't end.
Take time to say "I'm sorry"
And learn how to forgive.
Let justice, love and loyalty
Dictate the way you live.
Take the time and use it well
Or one day when you wake;
You'll find that when you need it most
There's no time left to take!!

Whatever you give away today or think or say or do
Will multiply about tenfold and then return to you.
It may not come immediately, nor from the obvious source,
But the LAW applies unfailingly through some invisible force.
Whatever you feel about another, be it love or hate
or passion,
Will surely bounce right back to you in some clear or secret fashion.
If you speak about some person, a word of praise or two,
Soon tons of other people will speak kind words to you.
Our thoughts are broadcasts of the soul, no secrets
of the brain.
Kind ones bring us happiness, petty ones, untold pain.
Giving works as surely as reflections in a mirror.
If hate you send, hate you'll get back, but loving brings love nearer.
Remember, as you start this day, and duty crowds
your mind,
That kindness comes so quickly back, to those who first are kind!
Let that thought and this one direct you through each day...
The only things we ever keep are the things we give away!

I've never made a fortune, and I'll never make one
now.
But it really doesn't matter 'cause I'm happy anyhow.
As I go along my journey, I've reaped better than I've sowed.
I'm drinkin' from the saucer, 'cause my cup has overflowed!
I don't have a lot of riches, and sometimes the
going's tough.
But I've got my kids to love me, so I think I'm rich enough.
I'll just thank God for his blessings, that His mercy has bestowed.
I'm drinkin' from the saucer, 'cause my cup has overflowed!
If you give me strength and courage when the way
grows steep and rough,
I'll not ask for other blessings-I'm already blessed enough.
May I never be too busy to help bear another's load.
I'm drinking from the saucer, 'cause my cup has overflowed!

I heard quite often "men don't cry"
Though no one ever told me why.
So when I fell and skinned a knee
No one came to comfort me.
And when some bully boy at school
Would pull a prank so mean and cruel
I'd quickly learn to turn and quip,
"It doesn't hurt", and bite my lip.
So as I grew to reasoned years
I learned to stifle any tears.
Though "be a big boy" it began,
Quite soon I learned to "Be a man."
And I could play that stoic role
While storm and tempest wracked my soul
No pain or setback could there be
Could rest one single tear from me.
Then one long night I stood nearby
And helplessly watched my son die.
And quickly found to my surprise
That all that tearless talk was lies.
And still I cry and have no shame
I cannot play that "big boy" game,
And openly without remorse
I let my sorrow take its course.
So those of you who can't abide
A man you've seen whose often cried,
Reach out to him with all your heart
As one whose life's been torn apart.
For men do cry when they can see
Their loss of immortality.
And tears will come in endless streams
When mindless fate destroys their dreams.
