CHILDREN'S
PARTIES
|
|
| This party starts out with the
invitation made to look like a map. As the children get to the party, we take pictures of
them in a detective style hat and coat (or you can have them bring their own picture) and
finger print them for their i.d.... cards. They each get their own little top secret
briefcase (a small red case we found at the dollar store and wrote "TOP SECRET"
on). In the case you can put in fake nose and glasses, notebook, pen, magnifying glass,
"Clue Jr." book, and disposable camera (if budget allows).
A game that is played as one big team or split up into groups:
Puzzle pieces will be hidden all over. Each time they find a piece to the puzzle a clue is
written on the back. They work together to put all the pieces of the puzzle together. The
puzzle (homemade) tells them where to find their goody bag.
To eat: cupcakes with hidden filling. You could also bake them
with a note inside. |

|
| This invitation starts out with an invitation map
that shows streets to get to the party. It is made
on parchment paper, crinkled, burn the edges, roll it up and tie a ribbon around it. As the kids arrive, they make their own pirate hat and put on their skull
and crossbones tattoo.
Games to play: Hunt for treasure (map at left), they hunt for
their goody bag (has wrapped chocolate coins and other goodies).
Walk the plank- blindfold them and make them walk across a homemade balance beam (not too
high off the ground). Whoever makes it the farthest wins a prize.
Food to Eat: Rolled up lunchmeat held together with sword
toothpicks, fruit salad in a pirate ship made out of a watermelon |

| I haven't had much time to update this page, but
since a lot of people have been looking for Christmas party ideas, I'll give you a few
brief ideas. You can divide the children into teams, and have them decorate one
child with Christmas tree items. (garland, tinsel, tape plastic bulbs on) You can make a
star to put on the child's head (a head band type). The star is the last item they are
allowed to put on their "tree". the first team done decorating using all
their supplies, wins.
Gift giving idea: Have all kids bring a gift (not gender specific). Children put gifts
in middle of room. Each child takes turns picking a gift from the pile. (Do Not Open Gifts
Yet). You will have made up a deck of cards or notes. Each child then takes a note in turn
and reads it allowed. The notes may say things like... "Everyone pass gift to
left"...or "trade your gift with someone wearing a blue shirt" etc... Be
creative. After everyone has had a chance to draw a note, they can open the gifts.
Make sure no-one has their own gift. (This can also be done with adults-
they could bring an item from home that they have been trying to get rid of or received as
a gift but don't use.) |
