ANNIVERSARIES & SHOWERS

You've Come a Long Way!

Custom written rhyme for Jan Heiden:

Info received- baby shower
She was born 3 months premature. She had a tough start in life. Her mother D.Ann also had a really tough time with the birth. D.Ann almost died, so maybe you could include her.

Everything was to be put in a diaper bag with notes attached

You've come a long way , baby!
Since your tough start.
Being born premature,
And nearly breaking your mother's heart.

But you and D.Ann made it.
And another child there will be.
How precious is the moment:
That first picture you'll see.

picture frame

This story begins-
After you walk in your front door.
From your baby's point of view...
'Cause you will sleep no more.

You are fast asleep... TIME TO WAKE UP!!
GOTTA GET OUT OF THAT BED!!
"I'm cranky and hungry."
It's time to be fed.

bottles, formula, bibs
breast feeding- bibs, burp rags

"I think I am full,
I am hungry, no more.
Go back to sleep, mommy.
I won't cry anymore."

"I was so warm and cozy.
Now what do I do?
It's sooo chilly out here...
I know- WAH, WAH, BOO, HOO!!"

baby blanket

You lie down once again.
And just as you fall asleep...
NO WAY! This can't be happening.
But yes, it's your child you hear weep.

"Ohhh, I'm so uncomfortable.
I think that was too big of a meal.
Mommy, I need you,
You know how I hate this feel."

diapers, wipes

The baby won't go to sleep now.
"Isn't it time to play?
I've eaten and gone potty,
And slept all day."

"Why won't you play with me?
I'll cry until you do.
The car ride won't put me to sleep.
And rocking or sucking my fingers won't do.

pacifier
for the parent who will give in- toy

Finally!! You get to sleep.
No more crying baby do you hear.
But there goes the alarm clock
'Cause daylight is near.

Just pack up the diaper bag.
You'll need an extra outfit or two.
Bring baby to grandma's
So you can have time for you.

for baby- outfit
for mom- bubble bath, book, pillow, or
something mom likes to do

Most Wonderful Man

Custom written rhyme for: Pamelia Lively

Info received- 3rd Anniversary

favorite snack-cheesie roll-ups; proud of being from Northtown-Longbeach, California; hobby- computer; occupation- regional manager of Southland traffic data collection; Pam says he is the most wonderful man there will ever be; awesome, caring, and always organized

Here's a different kind of present.
No, it's nothing sleazy.
So, roll-up your sleeves,
You may find this a bit cheesie.

make cheesie roll-ups
Sometimes you may feel lost,
Don't start getting down.
You can always use this
To go back to Northtown.

compass or map
When you're at home relaxing
And there's nothing to do.
Think where you could be...
At work- what a zoo!

matchbox cars, notebook, pencil or whatever you might use for collecting data
Now, Pam (I) thinks you're awesome
And caring and organized.
But here's something for you
That you need to get memorized.

calendar (write in it important dates- your birthday, anniversary, Valentine's Day, etc...)
Since playing on the computer
Is a hobby of yours
Here's a new product, just out,
You can't find in stores.

a plastic toy mouse
You're the most wonderful man
There will ever be.
Pam (I) love you so much. (or fill in whatever you want)
Happy 3rd Anniversary!

this gift comes from your heart- you choose
